Pressroom chemicals

About this category: check before choosing

Pressroom chemicals help clean and maintain offset press components. Compare Calcium Deglazer, Defoamer and VARN products for plates and lubrication. Ink removal, calcium removal and lubrication require different products.

Check the ink type, roller or blanket material and application method. Match the product to the actual surface. Compare spray powders in their separate category.

More about selection and application

Choose chemicals by residue and press component

A wash removes ink. A decalcifier targets calcium deposits. Roller lubricant supports units running without ink. A defoamer limits foam in the fountain solution. These products perform different tasks and are not interchangeable.

Check compatibility with the ink, rubber and cleaning system. UV compatibility alone does not establish EPDM compatibility. Standard Varn Roller Lube is not suitable for EPDM. Rinse Calcium Deglazer thoroughly with water. Follow the specific technical and safety instructions.

Questions to consider before purchasing

Can one wash cover conventional and UV inks?

Only when its documentation explicitly allows both inks and the rubber used. Check the exact variant.

How should I compare operating cost?

Compare consumption per treatment and the complete cleaning procedure. Price per litre alone does not establish the lower treatment cost.
