Varn CC 30 - anti-set-off powder, 2.5 kg

Varn CC 30 anti-set-off powder is a coated spray powder for offset printing. Its hydrophobic particle surface repels water and helps protect against ink set-off.

When should you choose this variant?

Match powder to substrate, ink coverage and finishing. Check the stack result instead of increasing powder without control.

• Uniform 30 µm particle size: facilitates consistent spacing between sheets.

Selecting particle size based on basis weight

For CC30, start with substrates of 200–400 g/m² and nominal 30 µm particles. This does not guarantee suitability for every paper or ink coverage.

Therefore, before switching to a different variant, examine the substrate surface and perform a test run on the actual stock to be used.

How to adjust powdering

1. Prepare the equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Then, perform a test run using the substrate intended for the job.
3. Check powder distribution and sheet protection in the pile.
4. Use the lowest dose that effectively limits ink set-off.

Reseal the packaging after use and store it in a dry place. Protect the powder from moisture and contamination.

Questions to consider before purchasing

Should you choose CC30 for jobs involving subsequent printing or lamination?

For these applications, compare uncoated Varn Regular first. Coated CC30 has different working properties. Do not treat the series as direct substitutes.

Are “Regular Fine” and “CC30” interchangeable?

These are different variants. Regular has uncoated particles; CC30 belongs to the coated series. Test any change under production conditions.

Will powder alone solve every set-off problem?

No. Also check ink drying and stack conditions. Excess powder does not remove the cause of the problem.

Compare anti-set-off powders before changing series. For repeat passes, also consider water-soluble KSL L3.
